I remember as a youth having so many strange dreams, I would tell people, and most of the time people would actually recount similar experiences in their dreams.

One that comes to mind, is a dream that I was in the car, but nobody was driving it, and it was leaving my house and taking off. It was extremely scary and I don’t remember much after leaving the house.

Another one as a child was a very strange dream involving floating transparent monsters floating through the bathroom mirror. All I remember about that one was being extremely young.

Another weird dream that comes to mind was a dream where people I knew would have all of their eyes messed up or crossed, and it panicked me. Another one that’s happened multiple times is one where my father is showing up in two places in the house and seemingly two people, and it turns into a twilight zone type of panic.

Sorry to keep only mentioning negative stories, all these seem to be nightmares, but for some reason those types of dreams are the most memorable to me, not some kind of nice dream.

Speaking of horrifying memorable dreams I can think of another one where I was running from Zombies throughout my city, and trying to avoid them at every turn, looking for some kind of mystical runes.

Everyone of these dreams were probably all reactions to the variety of television, music, and movies I was being exposed to in the 80′s, we all know the media, especially horror, was actually kind of extreme back then.

So I decided to jump out of the boat and swim back to shore. But, I forgot I had my glasses on. Well, they came off. To the bottom they sank. So, I swam back to the shore slowly knowing I would be the one in trouble. Sure enough when I got back. I got a good talking too.

But, still there was nothing that could be done. I was over the spring when I jumped out the boat. They were at the bottom. No one knew how deep it was. They were gone and would have to be replaced.

That night when I went to sleep I had the strangest dream. I only had it that one time. But, I would never forget it. I was sitting on the dock at the family lake house. I was just sitting there. Feet hanging over the side. Doing nothing but sitting there. Then all of a sudden. There was an apple sitting next to me on the dock and there was a little john boat sitting out in the middle of the water.

I had no clue where either of them came from. The boat looked empty. As I sat there I got hungrier and hungrier. The more I sat the more I wanted to eat that apple. So, finally I took a bite. I felt a piercing pain in my lip. I saw a little blood. Then, I felt a tug, a yank. Then, I was pulled so hard from the dock, right into the water.

I was being pulled through the water by my lips. I was being pulled towards that empty boat. When I reached the side of the boat. I started to pull myself up over the side. So I could catch my breath.

I look in the boat and what did I see. A bass, a big bass. With my glasses on. Little tiny fishing pole. The bass had just caught me using an apple as bait. I woke up. I ran to the bathroom to check my face. I was looking for a hook in my lip. Or blood on my face. But I didn’t see anything.

Realizing it was a dream. I have told a lot of people about this dream. I am sure that I had it, due to me losing my glasses earlier that day. But, everyone I have told. Just looks at me in aw. With nothing to say. I would say that was a weird dream.
